Gynecomastia Surgery: Cost and What the Procedure Involves in Pakistan
Gynecomastia surgery (also called male breast reduction) flattens and contours the chest by removing enlarged glandular tissue, excess fat, or both. It's one of the more frequently requested procedures for men who haven't found relief through lifestyle changes alone.
How the Procedure Is Chosen
The surgical approach depends on what's actually causing the enlargement. Cases that are primarily fatty tissue can often be addressed with liposuction alone, while cases with a firmer glandular component usually require direct surgical excision of that tissue, sometimes combined with liposuction to smooth the surrounding contour.
What Affects the Cost
- Whether liposuction alone is sufficient, or glandular excision is also needed
- The degree of enlargement and amount of tissue involved
- Whether excess skin also needs to be addressed, which adds complexity
- The hospital, anaesthesia type, and surgeon's experience
Because these factors vary so much between patients, an accurate cost estimate can only be given after an in-person assessment rather than a generic figure quoted in advance.
Recovery Timeline
Most patients wear a compression garment for several weeks and return to desk-based work within about a week. Swelling settles gradually, with the final chest contour typically visible from around three months onward.
